On the other hand, it does still contain nicotine, the substance that makes tobacco so addictive in the first place. In addition to being highly addictive, nicotine also raises your blood pressure and can increase your likelihood of having a heart attack. E-juice also contains other chemicals that may be just as harmful to your health as cigarette smoke. They may be less harmful, but you’re still putting poison in your body. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has even reported 60 confirmed deaths caused by vaping-related lung injuries as of January 2020.
Finding Other Smoking Cessation Methods
Many smokers have taken up vaping as a way to quit smoking traditional cigarettes, but there is precious little evidence to suggest that this is effective. Since e-juice still contains nicotine, many smokers have found that they don’t eliminate their tobacco cravings; they simply substitute one harmful habit for another. There are ways for smokers to gradually cut down on the amount of nicotine in e-juice until they can wean themselves off of it, but they’re still prolonging their addiction.
If you’re a smoker and you really want to give up the habit, there are better cessation methods available that have been proven to work. Instead of switching to e-cigarettes, talk to your doctor about ways you can quit using tobacco products for good.

The truth is that it is still harmful to your health, and you need to keep that in mind if you reach for an e-cigarette for your nicotine fix. In the end, it’s still safer to abstain altogether from anything containing nicotine.
